A. Training courses
a) Short Courses for Technologists
1. Complete Blood Counts – Bench to Clinic: Hematology course on Complete Blood Count include hands on training on various issues pertaining to hematology analyzers (5-part) starting from sample collection, processing, analysis, flags, trouble shoot, quality control and peripheral blood smear interpretation.
Minimum eligibility: 1. Matriculate/12th with at least 10 year experience in a busy hematology laboratory or B.Sc., DMLT working in a busy diagnostic hematology laboratory.
Number of participants: 4 (four) only. Candidates will be selected based on their bio-data and references. Last date to submit the applications and bio-data is April 15.
Dates of the course: July 21-23, 2010
Registration fee: There is no registration fee for the course. The delegates will be expected to make their own arrangement for travel, accommodation and food. Lunch and tea will be served during the course. Upon completion of the course the participants will be evaluated and will be given certificate of attendance.
2. Clinical Cytometry Course - Immunophenotyping - from the Bench to the Clinic: It include hands on training on various issues in the immunophenotyping of hematolymphoid neoplasm, starting from sample collection, processing, analysis, flags, trouble shoot and quality control.
Minimum eligibility: The participant must be a B.Sc or M.Sc or Ph.D in life sciences and working in a clinical cytometry laboratory for at least 1 year.
Number of participants: will be restricted to only four (4). Candidates will be selected based on their bio-data and references. Last date to submit the applications and bio-data June 30, 2011.
Dates of the course: August 8-12, 2011
Registration fee: There is no registration fee for the course. The delegates will be expected to make their own arrangement for travel, accommodation and food. Lunch and tea will be served during the course. Upon completion of the course the participants will be evaluated and will be given certificate of attendance.
b) Long Courses for Technologists

Hematology Technician training program – 6 month course followed by a bond of 6 month. Course starts every January and July. for details kindly check the TMH website
c) Short Courses for Pathologists

Number of Participants: 4 (four) only. Candidates will be selected based on their bio-data and references. Last date to submit the application and bio-data is 30th November 2010
Dates: January 19-21, 2011
Registration fee: There is no registration fee for the course. The delegates will be expected to make their own arrangement for travel, accommodation and food. Lunch and tea will be served during the course. Upon completion of the course the participants will be evaluated and will be given certificate of attendance.

B) Conferences / Workshop / Continuous Medical Education program
Basic Hematopathology Course – 2 days course (11th - 12th June 2011): Course description: This concentrated two days course is designed to provide a basic review of hematolymphoid lesions. The course will cover morphological approach to hematolymphoid neoplasm (bone marrow aspirate, biopsy and lymph node). It will also include basics of various ancillary techniques including immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. Automated hematology analyzers and issues related to quality control will be discussed.
Educational objectives: This course is intended for post graduate students, residents and fellows in pathology only.
Expected outcome: It is expected that the participants will acquire a basic knowledge of approach to hematolymphoid disorders - especially neoplastic, including morphology and ancillary techniques.
Dates: June 11-12, 2011
Venue: Chowksi Auditorium, TMH, Mumbai

Accommodation: Limited accommodation is available from June 11 -12, 2011.
First 25 interested applicants will be provided with accommodation at TMC Guest Rooms at BARC, Anushakati Nagar. Charges will be approximately Rs 300 per day. Confirmation regarding availability of the accommodation will be notified at a later date. Payment shall be made at the time of arrival.

C. Observership Program
(for technologists and pathologists): One month observership program in any of the sections including routine hematology / flow cytometry and molecular hematology laboratory. There is a nominal fee charged program. (any time of the year, depending upon availability of the position)
