The
Library of the Tata Memorial Hospital has been maintained since the inception
of the hospital. It was relocated on 17th November 2000, on the ground floor
of the main building now known as Digital Library. The digital library, the
hub of clinical information center for the hospital, is keeping pace with
recent state of the art technology and library activities, and continues to
function as information resource center. Keeping in view the need of information
at point of care, the library has facilitated the campus wide access to core
information.
It caters to the needs of clinicians, nurses, other para - medical staff,
medical administrators, and visitors from other hospitals, health care industries,
academic institutions from all over the country.
The Library has been completely automated and for this it has library management
software customized to its needs. This software can keep records of collection
in all medias, keeps track of current arrivals (serials control), circulation
activities and user profiles, Web OPAC system, and many other features necessary
for the users and the library management as well.
