The Tata Memorial Hospital announces a "Training Programme in Palliative Care" for Social Workers / Volunteers as part of comprehensive care for cancer patients.

The branch of Palliative Care in cancer encompasses caring for the patients with no hope of cure, where "quality of life" is the main aim. Caring for these patients is a team approach with doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, stoma care, volunteers and home care net worker for maximum benefit.

Applications are invited from SOCIAL WORKERS / VOLUNTEERS for training programme in Palliative Care as detail below.

08 days from 23.09.2010 to 01.10.2010
(excluding Sunday)

30 for Social Workers & Volunteers (Candidates sponsored from District Hospitals and Government Medical Colleges under the jurisdiction of Directorate of Health Services and Medical Education and Research will be given preference).

MSW / Training in Clinical Psychology / Counseling is preferred.

Below 45 years (relaxable in exceptional cases & sponsored candidates)

Approx. Rs.1000/-(Rs. One Thousand only) diet charges will be charged as per rules.

We have no arrangement for accommodation for outside candidates. They should make their own arrangement for accommodation.

List of candidates shortlisted will be displayed at our website http://tmh.gov.in and http://tmc.gov.in by 10.09.2010. Shortlisted candidates will also be informed by ordinary post.
