The ACTREC Library, houses an enviable collection of resources
in the field of cancer and allied subjects such as – Cell
Biology, Carcinogenesis, Chemotherapy, Bio-Informatics, Molecular
Biology, Neuro-Oncology, Virology, Immunology, Genetic Engineering,
etc, and is rapidly building up to be one of the leading research
and reference libraries in the country. The library collection
includes over 5500 books, and 9600 back volumes, and it subscribes
to over 50 national and international journals. The library
possession also covers video cassettes, CD ROMs, theses and
staff publications.
Services rendered by the library include borrowing facilities,
inter-library loan, bibliography, references, current awareness
and photocopying. Apart from the search facilities for inbuilt
databases, the library has in-house Internet search facilities
with dedicated lines. The library is a part of the DAE consortium
through which the users can have unlimited access to almost
2400 journals. Access to ‘Science Direct’ database is an added
feature of the library, wherein the full-text version of articles
in more than 1700 journals is available online. The J-Gate
and JCCC facility is also available to users through the TMH
Library.
The team of Librarian and two professionally qualified staff
with junior assistants help the library users in accessing
the relevant information available within the library and
from the Internet.
