Sophisticated state-of-the-art equipment useful to all the scientists and students and requiring specialized care and maintenance are placed in the Common Instrument Rooms at ACTREC. Available instruments include several high-speed and ultra centrifuges, radioactivity counters, spectrophotometers, fluorimeter, high pressure liquid chromatography and gas chromatography systems, gel documentation systems, thermal cyclers, lyophilizers, vacuum concentrators, phosphor imager, Microbeta-Trilux liquid scintillation and luminescence counter, radioflow analyser, ELISA reader, electroporator, UV cross linker and UV transilluminator.

An image analysis system for CGH studies and a laser-capture microdissection system are recent additions. The Centre is shortly to acquire a microarray reader, real time PCR, and DNA sequencer funded by ICMR towards establishing a centre for Cancer Genomics at the Centre. All the equipment are in working condition due to the strong support provided by the team of technicians of the Common Instrument Rooms.
